Updating SSL Certificate in VALT 6

This manual lays out instructions for updating the SSL certificate on a VALT 6 server

Copy the Certificate & Key Files to the VALT Server

Copy your certificate and key files to the VALT server

Recommendation is to place them in the /home/ivsadmin/ directory

SSH into the VALT Server

Establish an SSH session to the VALT server

Command

ssh ivsadmin@<valt-server-ip>

Open the VALTMenu

Navigate to the VALTMenu

Command

sudo VALTMenu

Reconfigure VALT

Select Configure VALT > Reconfigure VALT with new config

---

Confirm the Shutdown Warning

A warning will be thrown making sure that you want to shut down the application to make changes. Confirm Yes or No

If recordings are in progress, an error will be thrown letting you know to stop them before proceeding

Step Through to the SSL Prompt

Keep all of the existing options selected until you get to the prompt of "Would you like to update the current SSL configuration?" and select Yes

Prompt Sequence (keep existing values)

You will pass through the following prompts in order. Leave each at its existing value and continue until you reach the SSL configuration question

At the SSL configuration question, select Yes

Select SSL Key Pair

Hit Enter on Select SSL Key Pair

Select the Certificate File

Select your certificate file using the Space bar and Arrow Keys, then press Enter

1. If you have uploaded separate leaf & intermediate certificates, choose Yes and select your separate intermediate certificate file
2. If you uploaded a full chain certificate, choose No

Select the Key File

Select your key file using the Space bar and Arrow Keys, then press Enter

Files Are Copied to the SSL Directory

After all files are selected, they will be copied to the proper SSL directory

• The server will properly identify and isolate the certificates into their proper files

Finish the Reconfiguration

Continue bypassing all of the rest of the prompts until you get the "VALT Reconfiguration completed" confirmation
