Technical

  • Operating System Requirement
    • Added an operating system check to the ivs-valt package which prevents installation and upgrades on any version of Ubuntu other than 24.04
    • Systems running an unsupported version of Ubuntu will remain on their currently installed version of VALT until the operating system is upgraded
    • Added logging of blocked installations to the system log, viewable with 'journalctl -t ivs-valt'
    • Added an IVS Support override to bypass the operating system check, which logs a warning when it is used
  • Camera Management Menu
    • Updated the ivs-valt-menu package to require Python 3.12
    • Updated the Python virtual environment to be created with Python 3.12 and automatically rebuild if it was previously created with a different Python version
    • Updated package removal to clean up the command symlinks created during installation
    • Updated package purge to remove the Python virtual environment and its bundled wheels
  • Pipelines
    • Updated the wheel download to target the correct platform and Python version for Ubuntu 24.04
